Have you ever lost yourself in the opinions and expectations of others? I have. I had days of burnout trying to keep up with the demand to please others. My identity was in the praise of those I looked to for affirmation. Too often that praise came with a price I felt obligated to pay with my loyalty, time, my virtue and greatness. My lesson, idolatry doesn't produce fruit that is favorable to your destiny.
My destiny and my highest self was buried under depression and anxiety. I was stagnant and content in confusion because it was normal. Trauma was normal. So, I continued to exist in the abyss of deception. I believed that my portion of always "less than" and "exhaustion." I knew it wasn't my fault, just innately inherited from a long line of brilliant, starving somebodies. Always and I mean always...my heart desired more.

Then like nothing I'd ever experienced, I felt a peace come over me. A voice commanded me to rest. "Son, rest"....so I did. I rested what seemed like forever. In that rest I was refined and divinely loved. In that rest, I was affirmed by my Creator and all the other noise was silenced. Have your ever rested to be restored?
